About me
Hi! I'm Emilie, a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP). My speech journey began when I started attending my brother's speech therapy sessions as a child. I would sit in the sessions absolutely mesmerized by the connection being built between him and his SLP, the way my brother felt so empowered by his communication, and the way his confidence grew in each session. One of my brother's first words was my name, "Emi," and I will never forget how special that moment was for my family and me. From that moment, I knew I wanted to be a SLP. I am currently in the process of completing the Meaningful Speech Course to further my education/knowledge in gestalt language processing, an area that I am extremely passionate about. I have worked in settings such as outpatient and private practice. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, strengths-based, sensory integrated, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.

Our therapist is so interactive with our kiddo. He's hard to warm up but he really likes her and I feel like he's grasping the concepts.

My son started with Emilie about 3 months ago, as a parent who tried a virtual class I will admit I was skeptical because the last virtual class we took was for sign language and it was a group of people and it didn’t keep him engaged. After our first couple sessions of “getting to know each other” she found a way to keep him engaged by turning herself into animals or creating a new background with characters he liked. She was able to help me help him by giving suggestions that I never would have thought of which had a tremendous success rate. Some weeks we saw large amounts of progress and some weeks we saw little to no progress and whichever the outcome of the week she always had positive words and encouragement. Every week whether it was good or bad she always had a strategy to either add for the next week or an amendment to try to aid the strategy of the week before. I never felt as if my questions were a burden and felt she was just as excited about new milestones as we were. She showed nothing but compassion for my son and I. She became a part of our weekly routine that I enjoyed having and I am forever thankful to her for everything she has been able to suggest for us. I truly believe my son wouldn’t be as far as he has gotten without her support and for that I can’t be more grateful. She is such a blessing.

We absolutely LOVE Emilie, she is always supportive and has great suggestions to help with our son and really engages with him even though its through the computer screen. It's great to see her get just as excited as we do when we hit a new milestone. You can tell she enjoys her job and with kiddos she helps!

Emi always has great suggestions and input. I feel as though she’s been a huge contributing factor for my son’s improved speech. My son also loves her so that’s a huge plus especially given that the sessions are not in person.

We love Emilie! She always gives great advice to help me help my kiddo to try and use words. We’ve tried other video therapies but he just couldn’t get into them but he loves that Emilie turns herself into animals and it keeps him engaged the entire session
