Amy Harrell

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S., CCC-SLP)

Accepts 11 insurance plans

Hi, I’m Amy! I became a speech-language pathologist because of my sister, who has severe disabilities, including autism, intellectual disabilities, and epilepsy. Watching her communication journey inspired my passion for helping children and families feel supported, understood, and empowered through meaningful communication.

I’ve worked in both school and pediatric outpatient settings, supporting children with a wide range of communication needs. My clinical interests include AAC, autism, severe disabilities, fluency, and articulation and phonological disorders. I especially love helping children find communication methods that work best for them and their everyday lives.

I graduated with a clinical concentration in Severe Disabilities and AAC and am a certified Hanen More Than Words® provider through The Hanen Centre. I’ve completed extensive continuing education in AAC and regularly train SLPs and educators on AAC systems and implementation. I’ve also attended both the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Convention and the Assistive Technology Industry Association conference, and received the ASHA ACE Award in 2025.

My therapy approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and highly individualized. I prioritize functional communication, family involvement, and meaningful carryover to help each child build confidence, independence, and connection.
