About me

Hello, I'm Alethea! I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2018 because I wanted a career that would allow me to empower and connect people in a significant way. I believe that communication is one of the most important tools humans have, and it is hugely important from early development, all the way to end of life. I wanted to choose a profession that would allow me to facilitate everyday functioning and connection between people, and improve others’ quality of living. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including schools (grades K-12), early intervention (birth-3), independent and assisted living, and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs). My special trainings include selective mutism and pediatric/adolescent stuttering. I attended a week-long CommuniCamp workshop with Dr. Elisa Shippon-Blum for Selective Mutism as well as the FRIENDS conference for stuttering in children and teens. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, and individualized/personalized.

Alathea did a great job adapting how she approached new concepts to how my son was engaging with her. Being adaptable is a great way to connect!
