About me

Hello, I’m Whitney! I’ve been practicing speech-language pathology (SLP) since 2018. Helping others has always been a passion of mine, which led me to pursue a career in Communication Science and Disorders at the University of Texas at Austin. I then completed my master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Texas at Dallas, before relocating to West Texas. I have previously worked in the outpatient clinic setting with a multi-disciplinary team of SLPs, PTs and OTs, as well as seeing clients in the home health setting, and via Telehealth. I have had the opportunity to work with clients ages birth to 21 years old, with a variety of abilities and needs, including children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech sound disorders, expressive, receptive and social language delays, fluency disorders, and users of Augmentation and Alternative Communication (AAC). I have experience with both low and high tech options for AAC including PECs, Proloquo2GO, Accent and LAMP Words for Life. I have a passion for working with my clients and their families to establish functional communication skills for expressing wants, needs, thoughts, ideas and feelings. In addition to my passion for helping others to communicate, I have experience working with clients with feeding disorders including both sensory based feeding and dysphasia. I love to be able to support my clients with challenges they are having in their environment and to reach their goals. My clinical style can be described as client and family-centric, dynamic, strengths-based, functional, and individualized/personalized.
