About me

Hi! I'm Seham. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2013. I became an SLP becauseI always knew I wanted to work with children, but in a very personal and meaningful way. When I discovered the field of speech-language pathology, I quickly learned that it was full of rich and diverse opportunities to help others. Specifically, I was drawn to utilizing unconventional pathways to improve lives of children and families, otherwise known as AAC. When I learned specifically about how technology is so positively impacting children without a voice or limited verbal abilities, I was all in! I have worked in schools, private practices, and outpatient. I am certified in administering the ADOS-2 and have worked in a cross-disciplinary team with a developmental pediatrician and occupational therapist to diagnose children with Autism. I have received a certification from Meaningful Speech for assessing and understanding Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) for gestalt language processors. Since 2021, I have trained and conducted dynamic AAC assessments for 50+ families on a small and highly specialized AAC team. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, family-centric, strengths-based, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.
