About me

Hi! I'm Rachel. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2020. From an early age, I realized the exquisite gift that it is to be able to communicate and use language effectively. Not every individual is granted this gift, and I learned firsthand that at times, it can be taken away. Personal experiences pushed me to start advocating for those without a voice. This passion for working with people with speech and language difficulties continued to grow and evolve, leading me to earn my Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2020. I believe quality therapy services start with basics that are overlooked in traditional settings: building human connections. I want my patients to feel seen, heard, and respected on their communication journey, just as they are. Most importantly, I want to provide a safe place for individuals to play and discover the power of their words. I have received special training in the area of voice, as well as taken courses related to resonant voice therapy, psychogenic voice disorders/conversion disorders, and spasmodic dysphonia treatment. I have performed trainings for others in the outpatient setting regarding the topic of trauma-informed care and communication disorders. My background also includes extensive experience providing routines-based, caregiver coaching to help caregivers feel well-equipped for facilitating their own loved one’s treatment approaches at home. I worked in settings such as early intervention, outpatient pediatrics, skilled nursing, adult outpatient rehabilitation, and an autism spectrum disorder center. I would describe my clinical style as functional, routines-based, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.
