About me

Hi! I'm Dana. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2022. I guess you could say I followed in my Mom's footsteps. She was an SLP and worked predominately with preschool age. I was very aware of what an SLP was and all of the different populations they helped. My mom noticed my interest and had me shadow her PT, OT, and SLP friends to see if I would be interested. After that, I was sold. I always knew I wanted to help people but watching SLPs in action was really what solidified my decision to become an SLP. I am a SPEAKOUT! provider which is ran by the Parkinson Voice Project. I worked with many adults in graduate school and was not sure which direction I was going in so I wanted to get certified in it because I thought it would be effective and fun for future patients. I am trained in NMES treatment for dysphagia. I am also a registered MBSimP clinician. I worked in settings such as hospital, home health, and telehealth for a pediatric private practice. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, and strengths-based.

Other interests

I love to read basically anything. I review books for fun and have an instagram that is just about books, what I am reading, and what I recommend. I also love animals. I have 4 dogs and 1 cat. I love to name them fun names that always leave people smiling when they meet them. I love to travel. I really like going to Disney World and I am currently trying to bribe my husband into taking me again in the next year. I enjoy spending time with my family and getting creative planning fun activities for us to do when we all get together. I love hosting people at our house and showing them the beautiful North Georgia mountains and our small and sweet town.
