About me

Hi! I'm April. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2016. Being an SLP is an intentional and purposeful way to direct my talents and gifts outward to support and enhance the lives of those I serve. As a culturally aware and neurodiverse-affirming SLP who values multimodal communication, I have trained company’s on the Fundamentals of Augmentative & Alternative Communication. My qualifications & specialized trainings consist of Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) Professional, SOFFI Certified Professional, Language Acquisition Through Motor Planning (LAMP), Diagnosis and Treatment of Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) using Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC), and Assistive Technology Teammates. I have worked in settings such as adult rehabilitation, public schools, home health, private therapy clinics (speech only & multidisciplinary), ABA centers, telepractice. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, routines-based, strengths-based, sensory integrated, culturally diversity aware, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.
