About me

Hi! I'm April, a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP). Being an SLP is an intentional and purposeful way to direct my talents and gifts outward to support and enhance the lives of those I serve. As a culturally aware and neurodiverse-affirming SLP who values multimodal communication, I have trained companies on the Fundamentals of Augmentative & Alternative Communication. My qualifications and specialized trainings consist of the following: Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) Professional, SOFFI Certified Professional, Language Acquisition Through Motor Planning (LAMP), Diagnosis and Treatment of Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) using Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC), and Assistive Technology Teammates. I have worked in settings such as adult rehabilitation, public schools, home health, private therapy clinics (speech only and multidisciplinary), ABA centers, and telepractice. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, routines-based, strengths-based, sensory integrated, cultural diversity aware, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.

April is so kind and attentive. Child-led activities to nurture language growth. She always actively engages with my son based off his interests and vibes. Virtual services that keep a three year old nonspeaking autistic child actively engaged are truly rare. We are so grateful.

April has been the best addition to my sons life! He looks forward to meeting with her every session. She encourages him, adapts to his personality but also gently pushes him out of his comfort zone. He has grown so much since we have been interacting with her. I look forward to his progress which is inevitable because she is a gem!
